Guilin Liangjiang International Airport is about 30 kilometers from the center, with airport buses to the main districts. Most first-time visitors also arrive by high-speed train from Guangzhou (roughly two and a half to three hours) or from Shenzhen. 3 The must-sees in the city 市区必看

The Li River is the headline. The classic experience is a cruise from Guilin to Yangshuo: a slow four-hour boat ride past the rock formations that inspired generations of landscape paintings. The Longji Rice Terraces (Lóngjǐ Tītián) are the classic full-day trip, about two hours by bus from Guilin. The terraces climb steep hillsides in the Longsheng area, with minority villages such as Ping'an and Dazhai tucked among them.
